Deadline for President Mohamed Morsi to announce the date for the parliamentary elections as per the contentious newly drafted constitution.


On 21 February 2013 Morsi called the elections to start on 27 April 2013.

President Mohamed Mursi is expected to announce the date by February 25 at the latest as per the newly drafted constitution. Yet the Supreme Constitutional Court's rejection of some articles in the proposed elections law on grounds of their unconstitutionality may hinder the elections process until the law is approved.
