A memoir by Malala Yousafzai, a 15-year-old Pakistani activist who was shot in the head by the Taliban, is released in the UK. 


I am Malala is published by Weidenfeld and Nicolson publisher. 


Malala was shot in the head by a Taliban gunman for campaigning for girls' education and promoting her allegedly 'secularist' views online.


The teenage activist said she hoped her story would be "part of the campaign to give every boy and girl the right to go to school."
