Ex-nuclear negotiator to run in Iranian presidential election

Former Iranian nuclear negotiator Hassan Rowhani runs in the country's presidential election. Rowhani officially announced his candidacy to succeed Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on April 11.
"We need a new management for the country but not based on quarrelling, inconsistency and eroding domestic capacity, but through unity, consensus and attracting honest and efficient people," said Rowhani.
The Muslim cleric, who served as head of the Supreme National Security Council, presided over nuclear talks with Western powers, which resulted in Iran's suspension of uranium enrichment-related activities between 2003 and 2005.
