Tasmania court considers environmentalists case against Nelson Bay River mine
|
|
A Federal Court in Tasmania is to examine the case brought by environmentalists who seek to halt construction work on the Nelson Bay River
mine as they challenge the approval of the move.
Green group Save The Tarkine started the proceeding in an effort to stop work which has already begun despite an ongoing legal challenge to federal Environment Minister Tony Burke's approval of the mine.
Justice Shane Marshall has granted a temporary injunction in mid May preventing Shree Minerals from working on its mine until the hearing.
