David Beckham, one of the most iconic footballers in the world, retires from professional football.


The 38-year-old former England captain moved to Paris Saint-Germain in January 2013 with a five-month contract.


"I'm thankful to PSG for giving me the opportunity to continue but I feel now is the right time to finish my career, playing at the highest level," Beckham said upon announcing his retirement.
