The Berlin International Film Festival, also known as Berlinale, is one of the world's leading film festivals and most reputable media events.

Founded in West Berlin in 1951, it is one of the greatest publicly attended festivals worldwide based on ticket sales alone.

Up to 400 films are shown in several genres representing a comprehensive array of the cinematic world however only a few will stand a chance at winning the Golden and Silver Bear award.
