The Cannes International Film Festival is an annual film festival previewing the latest in cinema from all genres from around the world. 


Founded in 1946, it is the world's most prestigious and publicized film festival with admission by 'invitation only'.

Held usually around May at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès it is known to showcase documentaries as well.

The President of the Jury is the Italian film director Nanni Moretti.
