The Tennessee Williams/New Orleans Literary Festival was founded in 1986 by a group of local New Orleans citizens who shared a common desire to celebrate the region’s rich cultural heritage. From an ambitious start with 500 audience members enjoying two days’ entertainment, attendance has increased to the 10,000 audience seats filled in 2011 for the festival's 25th anniversary and five days of programming.
