Sunfest is an annual Canadian world music music festival typically running the weekend after Canada Day.

Run by a non-profit community arts group, it is the second-largest music festival in Canada after Caribana in Toronto dedicated to promoting cultural awareness and understanding of the arts through international talent.


Initiated by Herb Bayley in 1994, he co-founded the festival together with Alfredo Caxaj, a Guatemalan immigrant who fled after the murder of his brothers.

Alfredo is a known musician himself and current Artistic & Executive Director of Sunfest.
