Pritzker Architecture Award honors a living architect whose built work demonstrates a combination of talent, vision, and commitment and who has contributed through his/her work to humanity and the built environment.
The international prize was established by the Pritzker family of Chicago through their Hyatt Foundation in 1979. It is often considered as the “architecture’s Nobel”. The award consists of $100,000 and a bronze medallion.
The Award ceremony follows the announcement of the Award winner and is held in the country where the laureate comes from.
