On May 14th, 1940 at 1:30 in the afternoon, almost the entire port city of Rotterdam was destroyed by 97,000 pounds of German explosives.There were 900 deaths and 79,000 people were left homeless.At the time Rotterdam was the main city of the Netherlands, which is why it was targeted in the bombing.
