First presented in 1967, honors are handed out to non-Caucasians, or as the association states 'colored' individuals,whomendeavored outstandinglyin film, television, music, and literature.
Similar to the
Oscars or the
Grammys, more than 35 categories have been laid out defining the criteria on which to hand out each individual award.
The show is aired on the Fox Network having been publicly broadcasted since 2007.
