The Eagles is one of the most renowned series of awards for those in the comic business giving particular attention to comic titles and their creators.
Introduced in 1976 and first awarded in 1977 for comics in the preceding year, it is known as the comic industry's longest running award in the category of its kind.
Initiated by the founders Mike Conroy,Nick Landau, Colin Campbell, Phil Clarke and Richard Burton, the first ever awards were handed out to artists like Neal Adams, Roy Thomas and Chris Claremont and titles like X-men, Conan and the MAD magazine.
