The London Gay Parade
The Russian capital hosts the Gay Pride March on the anniversary date of the decriminalisation of homosexuality in Russia.
Despite their acquired legal status, the local gay community has continually been hampered by local authorities in their attempts to stage a public gay march. In fact, former Mayor Yuri Luzkhov did his utmost to deter the "satanic events" and largely succeeded in doing so.
Encouraged by the verdict of the European Court of Human Rights in the case of Alekseyev v. Russia, the Muskovite Gay Movement hopes to bring this year's gay pride parade to a positive end.
