The Dubai World Cup is a thoroughbred horse race held annually since 1996 in the city of Dubai, United Arab Emirates thanks to an initiative by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum.
The race is operated courtesy of the Emirates Horse Racing Authority (EHRA). The current Chairman is Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Presidential Affairs of United Arab Emirates.
From 2010, the races are held at the Meydan Racecourse.
