About 30,000 runners cover the 21 kilometre distance at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. The fastest runners reach the finish in just over one hour.

The event started in 2005 as the Hutch Delhi Half Marathon. There are also shorter race events for senior citizens and the disabled.
