The WGC Accenture Championship is a single-elimination match-play event that forms part of the World Golf Championships that take place every year around the world. The five-day, six-match tournament is sponsored by Accenture, the world's largest consulting firm.
The top 64 players from the official world golf rankings take part in the tournament. The winner goes home with a cash prize usually exceeding $1 million and is awarded with the Walter Hagen Cup, named after the first native-born American to win the British Open. Hagen ranks as the 7th greatest golfer of all time.
