NBA All-star game, 2010
The 2012 All-Star Game takes place at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida; home of the Orlando Magic. It is the 61st edition organized by the National Basketball Association (NBA) to be played during the 2011–12 NBA season.
The game will be going through despite the 2011 NBA lockout.
The NBA All-Star Game was first staged at the Boston Garden on March 2, 1951, bringing together the best players from the Eastern and Western Conference to compete for one of the most exciting titles in American basketball.
The participants are determined in two ways. The first via fan ballot with the leading vote recipients at each position starting the game. Secondly, the reserves are chosen by popular vote through the head coaches of each particular squad conference.
Coaches are not allowed to vote for their own players. In case of player injury, the commissioner selects a replacement.
