The Iranian minefields near the southwestern town Shalamcheh are fully cleared.
The minefields were once the most contaminated area in the world. During the clearing process, 71 mine-clearers have lost their lives and 408 are seriously injured.
Iran had to develop its own software program to clear the minefields, because Western countries refused to give the country access to their own.
The minefields in Shalamcheh were laid during the Iran-Iraq War from 1980 till 1988.
