The Swiss company Pilatus Aircraft Ltd. starts delivering trainer aircraft to India.
The country has ordered 75 trainer airplanes for its air force trainee pilots as the air force has been experiencing a shortage of aircrafts after a fleet of HPT-32 basic trainers were grounded following an accident three years ago.
The costs of the new aircrafts are around $560 million. India is currently the world's biggest arms importer, as it has been modernizing its military and replacing old Soviet-era weapons.
