The Chairman of the Dutch trade union federation FNV Vakcentrale, Agnes Jongerius, resigns after having worked for FNV for 25 years.

Jongerius' resignation takes place on the same day that the replacement of FNV Vakcentrale, De Nieuwe Vakbeweging, goes into  effect .

De Nieuwe Vakbeweging, which is just a temporary title, was launched last year due to an internal conflict over the rise of the pension age in the Netherlands. It aims to be more accessible to workers and to promote their interests on a higher level.

FNV was the largest trade federation in the Netherlands with 1.4 million members.
