Russia bans alcohol advertisement on the internet, as well as in the newspapers and magazines, following the approval of the bill proposing the move in July 2012.
The new law aims to lower the consumption of alcohol in Russia, where drinking has a strong tradition.
According to statistics, a Russian citizen drinks on average eighteen liters of strong alcoholic beverages per year and half million Russians lose their lives to exuberant alcohol consumption.
