German car maker BMW launches four new models in India, the company has announced. The four models are the 7 series, the new X1, the 1 series and the X6. Additionally, BMW is also seeking to increase the number of locally assembled products.
At the same time, the car manufacturer is going to eliminate discounts on its products on the Indian market, Philipp von Sahr, BMW Group India president has revealed.
"BMW India will increase prices of all its products by up to 10 per cent from January 2013. We will put an end to all the discounting. This is a dangerous trend and it is unsustainable. We are hiking product prices to offer better consumer experience and better service," Sahr stated.
BMW is currently the largest luxury car brand in India, followed closely by Audi.
