Chinese-Israeli carmaking joint venture Qoros is set to unveil its first
vehicle at the Geneva auto show.
"Our participation in the Geneva car show next March is confirmed. We will be the only Chinese automaker there," Qoros public relations official Zhang Zhen told AFP.
The Chinese-made car is also scheduled to be presented in China at the Shanghai auto show the following month. Sales should begin in the second half of 2013 in Europe and China.
The launch of the new car is another indication of the Chinese carmakers' efforts to expand their presence in different markets around the world, in particular in Europe.
Qoros, headquartered in Changshu near Shanghai, is a joint venture between Chinese automaker Chery, China’s largest carmakers, and holding company Israel Corporation.
