T-Mobile USA is likely to start carrying the iPhone as its parent company Deutsche Telekom reached a new deal with Apple.
The telecom company was the only of four national wireless carriers in the US which do not offer iPhones to its customers.
Although it was possible to use iPhones on T-Mobile networks, customers had to order the phones themselves. The smartphones from Apple also worked much slower than other phones with T-Mobile's wireless internet in the US.
Offering the iPhone will likely help the German mobile provider to more customers and will enable it to keep up with its rivals. However, carrying the device will be costly for the company as it will need to subsidize the iPhone to make up the money for a two-year contract.
The deal between Deutsche Telekom and Apple might also see the sale of iPads by T-Mobile USA.
