Apple is expected to unveil updated versions of its MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models, following reports that the company had requested its supply chain partners to prepare to build the revised notebooks.
The MacBook Air models will include new processors, but are likely to maintain the current design introduced with the late 2010 release.
Previous updates to the Air model in June 2012 brought faster processors, new RAM and storage options, and a FaceTime HD camera.
No major revisions to the MacBook Pro have been revealed, with changes likely to be made only to internal features.
While it is believed that the price of the current MacBook Air models could drop before the release, the company's general strategy before a new launch does not include reducing the retail cost of their current products.
