The European Press Prize reward excellence in journalism in Europe

The European Press Prize is an award bestowed by seven European media foundations (among which also Reuters) for excellence in journalism across all 47 countries of Europe.
The Awards are given in four categories. Every award is accompanied by a €10,000 prize. The categories are:
-Editing Award, for editors in chief or editors responsible for a publication which the judges believe has raised public debates.
-Commentator Award, for feature writers, columnists or commentators who contributed the most to address vital issues for his readers.
-News Reporting Award, for reporters or special commentators whose work has made a decisive impact.
-Innovation Award, for journalists or editors who through their own innovative ideas have influenced journalism’s future.
The Award was founded in 2012, and the the first recipients are the ones of 2013. The winners of 2013 European Press Prize are announced in January 2013.
