The eagerly awaited Kenyan presidential debates begin, with the first round taking place at the Brookhouse International School.
Kenya's current Prime Minister Raila Odinga will once again run for the presidency and will be faced with five other adversaries from different parties.
Elections in recent years have been the cause of much rioting and violence in the country. In 2007, President Mwai Kibaki was sworn in despite widespread allegations of fraud, which subsequently led to the violence that killed 1,200 Kenyans and left 300,000 displaced.
The second debate will be held on February 25.
