Thai and French leaders attend Cambodian royal cremation

The prime ministers of France, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam are scheduled to attend the cremation ceremony of the former King of Cambodia Norodom Sihanouk.

Senior political, royal and military figures from across the region are also expected to be in the audience.

Norodom Sihanouk, the former King of Cambodia, died in October last year in Beijing at the age of 89. His funeral took place three days before the cremation ceremony.

Cambodia's King Norodom Sihamoni and Queen Mother Monineath are due to receive French Prime Minister Jean Marc Ayrault, Japan's Prince Akishino and Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Consultative Conference in separate audiences.
