Queen Elizabeth coronation
The Queen Elizabeth's coronation robes and jewelry are exhibited at the Buckingham Palace for the first time since the ceremony at Westminster sixty years ago.
The exhibition also features the outfits worn by the Queen Mother, Prince Charles and Princess Anne when Elizabeth was inaugurated on June 2, 1953.
"It was such a momentous event, probably one of the greatest in 20th century British history, because of its scale and the pageantry around it," exhibition curator Caroline de Guitaut described the coronation ceremony.
"This show, because it is such an auspicious anniversary, will be on an unprecedented scale. It will be the first time that these outfits have been brought together since 1953. They are all in really good condition in spite of their age. The children's outfits are charming".
