Opposition protests attempt to oust Maoist government

Nine opposition parties in Nepal, including the Nepali Congress and the Communist Party Nepal- Unified Marxist Leninist (CPN-UML), are calling on their supporters to rally against the Baburam Bhattarai-led government by participating in a mass protest with the intention of ousting the government and making way for fresh constituent assembly polls.

According to CPN-UML leader KP Oli, Maoist officials are showing ultra-left characteristics prone to extremism and should therefore be chased from their position of governance.
