Haruhiko Kuroda replaces Shirakawa as BOJ Governor after parliament approval

Haruhiko Kuroda, a  former President of the Asian Development Bank, takes over as the Governor of the Bank of Japan after receiving the  approval  of the Japanese parliament on March 14. 

Kuroda succeeds outgoing governor Masaaki Shirakawa, who steps down earlier than his term was scheduled to end on April 8.  

The Japanese government presented  its nomination for a new governor for the BOJ on February 27.
