The Nigerian Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Onyeabo Azubuike Ihejirika, responds to an alleged ethnic bias in Nigeria's army.

Azubuike Ihejirika will address members of the press to express his disappointment over accusations of ethnic cleansing and victimization made against him.

According to a top army officer, who remained anonymous, "disgruntled retired generals" are behind the accusations.

"These people have a right to bring their grievances to the right quarters instead of heating the system, they are picking names of some officers who come from the Eastern part of the country as if they are the only ones that were posted. This is not fair", he said.
