Favreau worked with Obama for seven years
President Obama's Director of Speechwriting Jon Favreau leaves the White House, possibly to pursue a career as a screenwriter in Hollywood.
Favreau was appointed as Obama's speechwriter shortly after Obama was first elected to the Senate. In 2009, he was named a White House staff member, as Director of Speechwriting.
Describing Favreau's working relationship with Obama, the US president's advisor David Axelrod said "it's like watching two musicians riff."
