Austrians go to polls to elect MPs

Austria holds its parliamentary elections.

In order to gain a majority in the 165-seat National Council, a coalition needs 83 seats.

At the last election, Prime Minister Werner Faymann's Social Democratic Party of Austria won with 29.2 percent of the votes, followed by the Austrian People's Party which won 25.9 percent of the votes.
