Warsaw historic center
A group of experts is due to discuss the implementation of a World Heritage Center for the former Soviet republics making up the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
The group will focus on finalizing the draft provisions for the center, which is to be set up at the UNESCO department for town planning and architectural specimen in Moscow.
The center will serve as a not-for-profit organization seeking to preserve world heritage monuments in the region. Also, the center will work towards the inclusion of certain sites and objects to the UNESCO list. Finally, the center will also focus on holding international conferences, seminars and symposia with the intention of promoting cooperation between CIS countries and various international organizations.
