Scotland launches first satellite 'UKube-1' on Russian rocket in Kazakhstan

Scotland launches its first satellite UKube-1 on a Russian rocket at the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.

The satellite is developed by Glasgow-based company Clyde Space.

UKube-1 is to measure plasmaspheric space weather with the help of GPS technology and test how cosmic radiation could improve the security of communication satellites.
