The Israeli prime minister's national security adviser, Ya’akov Amidror, embarks on a trip to Washington to prepare US President Barack Obama's visit to Israel.

Amidror's visit comes amid reports about unprecedented tensions between Israel's PM Benjamin Netanyahu and newly elected Obama.
