The BBC airs a new comedy titled Bluestone 42 whose plot revolves around a bomb disposal unit in Afghanistan despite criticism about what is considered by some to be content offensive to the British troops.
Bluestone 42 follows a bomb disposal squad on tour of duty in the warzone and features bad language, sexual innuendos, sexism and childish bante. The BBC, however, hopes the new series will make TV history as the first comedy about British soldiers fighting in Afghanistan.
The creators of Bluestone 42 have defended the show, saying they treated the work of serving personnel "with respect" and stated that military advisers were used while working on the show's production.
