The American Board of Physician Specialties (ABPS) encourages all Americans to observe National Doctors Day to recognize the US physicians for their hard work and commitment to the well-being of patients.
“Physicians share uniquely personal relationships with their patients,” said A. Robert Cerrato, president of the American Association of Physician Specialists, the governing body of ABPS. “Patients spend several life-changing and milestone moments with their doctors,” he added.
March 30 marks the anniversary of the first use of general anesthetic in surgery dating back to 1842. The National Doctors Day was first observed in 1933.
