Colors fill the streets during New York's Gay Pride Parade

The Gay Pride March, commonly referred to as the Pride Parade in New York City, is the oldest annual Gay Parade in the United States taking place during the Gay Pride Week.

Starting at Fifth Avenue and ending at Greenwich Village, the March passes by the Stonewall Inn on Christopher Street (where the 1969 police raid took place) and where the subsequent launch of the modern Gay Rights Movement was initiated.

Events besides 'The March' include PrideFest, and 'Dance on the Pier' during the entire Gay Pride Week.
