The Hay Festival of Literature & Arts is an annual literature festival held for ten days from May to June. Hay gathers people to think about the world as it is and to imagine how it might be.
The festival's attendees share stories and ideas with great international writers and thinkers, film-makers, historians and novelists, philosophers, environmentalists, poets and scientists.
The festival was described by former US President Bill Clinton as "The Woodstock of the mind".
