Tisha B'Av is the ninth day of the month of Av in the Jewish calendar that is observed by Jewish people.
It is a sad day that observes other major disasters and tragedies that affected Jewish people throughout history. In particular, it commemorates the day on which, according to the Jewish tradition, both Holy Temples in Jerusalem were destroyed.
On this day, Jews follow various restrictions like fasting, avoiding washing, bathing, shaving or wearing cosmetics, not wearing leather shoes, avoiding certain types of work and abstaining from sexual activities.
